Abstract
This experiment was conducted to investigate the effect of different microtubers (5¡7 §® and 3¡4 §® diameter) and plug cells (128 and 72-cell plug tray) on growth and yields of ¢¥Dejima¢¥ potato. Microtubers of 5¡7 §® in diameter were higher in sprouting and lower in decaying than that of 3¡4 §®. During the seedling, the emergence of plant was favorable in 5¡7 §® diameter of microtubers, but plug cell size was not affected. Seedlings grown in 128-cell plug tray showed better growth in plant height than those of in 72-cell. Transplanted seedlings in field showed very high planting rate. After planting, at the early stage, growth was good in 128-cell, but at the late stage growth was better in 72-cell than in 128-cell plug tray. Number of tuber per plant was found in most in 128-cell and total potato yields were higher at 3¡4 §® in 128-cell and 5¡7 §® in 72 cell than those of others.
